Heart of the Land

We have some epic paintings by Gordon Crabb for sale. This large landscape was produced for Dell in 1985. A family from Kentucky are making their way to Texas but it seems that things aren't going to plan.
It's hard to show just what a beautiful piece of work it is without showing you a detail. The colours are quiet and the mood is contemplative. It's one of the largest book cover paintings Gordon ever produced.

Master Entrick: An Adventure 1754-1756

This was another cover for Dell, by Gordon Crabb produced in 1986. 'Young Robert Entrick is kidnapped from his safe Lancashire home and forced into a life of frontier self-reliance as a bond-servant during the French and Indian War.' It's another powerful and evocative painting by Gordon Crabb from those days when he would spend many weeks painting in oils.

And Westerns

Of course, Gordon also painted many Westerns. This one was Cimarron Jordan commissioned by NAL for the book by Matt Braun.

The Last Battle at the End of the World

This magnificent new book by Jeffrey Alan Love has now been released. The first edition includes a 48-page behind the scenes section that features sketches and commentary revealing how the book was created. Signed copies are available from the Flesk website and you should also be able to find copies in US stores.
Most recently Jeff has been illustrating the enormously successful comic series, News from the Fall Out, written by Chris Condon. The partnership has been quite a ride, with an intense amount of work to be done, but Jeff has finished now. The fourth comic (of an eventual six) is published this week and its’ reputation is riding high.

The Convention Season

We are so sorry not to be coming to Illuxcon (IX Arts) this year. We love those trips but just at the moment it hasn't quite worked out. However, Jim Burns will be going to Fantasycon in Brighton in October so here's another image from IT which he's likely to bring.
I'm also pleased to say that a new recruit, Caitlin Turner, will be in Brighton, in the art show. She's storming her way through her first year of working and she'll have some excellent things to sell. A first convention is always a learning curve but she’s really looking forward to it so do stop by and say hello.

And finally

If you'd like something dramatic and colourful on your desk, how about this very handsome mat using Ian Miller's image, part of Dragon Shield’s Signature Series? Really high quality, and a very reasonable way for Ian's work to start your day.
