This was commissioned by Irene Gallo at Tor Books. The series for Ben Bova goes back many years. Jupiter, Titan, Saturn, Mercury, Venus - and many more. John's happy to work through the solar system and has produced many classics for this series so far but he found this one particularly satisfying.
