Storyworld: The Fisherman

Paul was one of the first artists to become involved in the development of this innovative game devised by John and Caitlin Matthews, commissioned by Mike Jolley and published by Templar Publishing in the UK and Candlewick Press in the US.

Each of the artists involved was briefed to hold the main element of the illustrations within an arch. In this instance, the arch is painted on the illustration. This
was the first piece Paul produced for the series and the arch system had not been fully developed at that stage. That's also why the foreground of the painting is slightly different from the card as published.
