Harry Potter exhibition at Seven Stories

We were delighted to see the exhibition of Jim Kay‘s work at the opening of the show at the national centre for children’s books, Seven Stories, in Newcastle on Friday. We sent them a selection of the preparatory work for the first book and they chose about thirty pieces, added some prints, and made a huge version of the cover image. The show was curated by Gillian Rose and Alison Fisher.

We also the “life-size” Diagon Alley on a different floor which is beautifully produced and shows the amazing amount of detail in the painting. Many thanks to all at Seven Stories for the excellent show and for the warm welcome.
