Jim Kay and The Great War

Jim’s illustrations for The Great War, published by Walker Books, are beautifully evocative without being too hard-hitting. This book, designed by David McDougal, is full of stories by the best of children’s writers, a classic amongst the large amount of books on the subject, and now longlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal.

The combination of Walker and Jim Kay, together with Patrick Ness, has already been the winner of the medal, in 2012. The book, A Monster Calls. Prints from the illustrations are available here.
