Jim Burns at Loncon – and the Chesley Award

Jim had much to tell us in his interview with Jane Frank. It was good to hear more about how he got started in SF illustration, and Jane was the perfect person to ask the questions as they’ve worked together for many years. Loncon also saw the publication of Jim’s work for Dead Girls, the Richard Calder comic book.

He was delighted to receive the Chesley “Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award” at the convention and to me that seems very much deserved.

You can read more about Jim’s work in The Art of Jim Burns: Hyperluminal which has been very well received. There’s a BSFA review here.
